'SpongeBob Movie 2' Trailer Shows New 3D Spongebob Characters With Superpowers [VIDEO]

SpongeBob the popular deep sea cartoon sponge is gearing up for his next full length feature film. 'The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie: Sponge out of Water' will star SpongeBob, Patrick and the rest of their friends, and just recently, the trailer for the film has been released.

The trailer shows the gang in their regular 2D cartoon form, but at one point, they are forced to go out of the water, where they take on their new 3D forms. The transformed 3D characters are quite a bit different from the cartoon profiles, but 3D seems to fit the characters. The voices for the characters are done by Rodger Bumpass, Tom Kenny, Carolyn Lawrence, Mr. Lawrence, Bill Fagerbakke and Clancy Brown.

The antagonistic pirate in the movie is played by Antonio Banderas. The pirate is looking for ways to hatch an evil plan with his magic book, but lacks the final page that is essential to his scheme. The owner of the magic book can make anything a reality just by writing it into the book.

To fight the enemy pirate, SponeBob's gang gets superpowers from the same magic book, which they steal - SpongeBob is the new Invincibubble, Patrick transforms into Mr. Superawsomeness, Mr. Krabs is now the Sir Pinch-a-lot (who looks a lot like Iron Man), Plankton is granted a Hulk like superpower, Sandy turns into a real life squirrel and Squidward into a Sour Note. They use the superpowers to get back the recipe.

The movie was originally called 'SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2', and is scheduled to be released on February 6, 2015.
