South Park TV Show Misses Deadline For First Time Ever: Trey Parker and Matt Stone Have Never Missed a Deadline in 240 Episodes Prior [VIDEO]

The South Park TV show on Comedy Central is one of the longest running comedies of all time and also has produced some of the most memorable characters of any TV show. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of the show, missed a the deadline to turn the show in to Comedy Central for the first time in the show's history due to a power outage at the South Park Studios. Parker said, "It sucks to miss an air date, but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen."

The show has a later deadline than most TV material because it needs to stay current with relevant, topical events in order to retain its place as the most popular satirical show on television.

Comedy Central issued a statement about the missed deadline, saying, "On Tuesday night, South Park Studios lost power. From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of their computers were down for hours and they were unable to finish episode 1704 'Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers' in time for air tonight." The episode will instead air on October 23rd.

The show is renowned for its relevance and creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone take pride in being as current as possible. Most famously, they released an episode about Obama winning the 2008 election the day after he actually won.
