'South Park' Season 18 Release Date News: Cartman Returns Fall 2014 To Create More Chaos (VIDEO)

The release date for the upcoming season of Comedy Central's long running and extremely popular animated series 'South Park' has been confirmed to debut this Fall.

'South Park' stars four potty mouth elementary school students (Eric Cartman, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski and Kenny McCormick) and their crazy adventures in the fictional city of South Park, Colorado.

Comedy Central recently announced that the premiere date of the cartoon, in addition to revealing the release dates of other popular shows on the network such as 'Key & Peele' (September 24) and 'Tosh.0' (August 26).

South Park returns to television next month after the successful release of the critically acclaimed 'South Park: Stick of Truth' was released in stores on March 4, 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and Microsoft Windows.

Previously, series co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker (both men provide the voices for most of the characters in the animated comedy series and the videogame) talked about the differences of delivering their comedy lines in the game instead of the small screen.

"[But] you sit and watch South Park [on TV] a certain way... [and] a game is consumed a certain way. It engages different parts of your brain. The natural rhythms of comedy that we know pretty well from the TV comedy universe, they're different from a game," said Stone to IGN in March, "And they have to be different, and you can't resist it. You have to go, 'Yeah, it's gonna be different' instead of being a joke. It's gonna be a tool that you use that's gonna be funny when you use it. I would start differently now if we started again."

The men hinted that there might be a sequel in the future for popular 'South Park: Stick of Truth' game.

"This was a hellacious undertaking - much more than when we signed up for it. Never say never. I would do it again, in some fashion. I think that video games are really interesting," said Stone.

'South Park' Season 18 debuts on September 24 at 10 pm on Comedy Central.
