Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Launches in March 2015 at MWC Event?

Contrary to fans' expectations, Sony did not introduce its long-awaited flagship smartphone called the Xperia Z4 at the recently-concluded 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Los Angeles.

While the Japanese tech giant has yet to make any announcement regarding the launch of the purported device, tech enthusiasts hope that they will get to see the product at the upcoming Mobile World Conference (MWC) scheduled to be held in Barcelona from March 2-5, 2015.

Meanwhile, Android Authority suggests that the Sony Xperia Z4 will resemble its predecessor Xperia Z3 and will come in a metal casing. However, the upcoming smartphone is expected to be available in additional color options.

It further claims that the Sony Xperia Z4 version that will be sold in the United States will come with a 5.2-inch Full HD TRILUMINOUS display having a 2K screen resolution. It is expected that Sony will launch two versions of the Xperia Z4 - one version having a Quad HD display, while the other will come with Full HD resolution.

Android Authority further claims that the upcoming device will either have a 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch screen. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and likely to have a 32GB internal memory and 4GB RAM. In addition, the Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to boast a 20.7-MP main rear camera and 4.8-MP front-facing snapper, be equipped with a 3,420 mAh battery as well as Qi wireless charging.

Tech Radar has, in the meantime, claimed that the upcoming Sony device will come with a 4.7-inch screen, similar to that of the Xperia Z3, but render a 1080p resolution. This reported further said that the Xperia Z4 is likely to feature IP68 water and dust-proof certification, in addition to LTE Cat 9 connectivity.
