Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Release Date, Price and Specs: What to Expect With Smaller Xperia Device

Sony accidentally revealed that they are working on a new Xperia tablet. Details about a Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet have been circulating tech blogs, and compiling the information gives techies a general sense of what to expect with the device.

According to TechTastic, Z3 Tablet will have a Bluetooth speaker and a charging dock.

PC Advisor speculated that the Z3 Tablet will have an 8 inch display which will be comparatively larger than the 7.9 inch display of the iPad mini. It is also said that Z3 will be waterproof just like its predecessor, Z2.

In terms of hardware, it is expected to have a 16GB storage with an option for expandable memory.

The Xperia Z2 cost about $663 during its launch, which was similar to the price of iPad Air. However, since Z3 is expected to be smaller, it could have a lower premium price. As it will be competing with other Apple compact products like the iPad Air and iPad mini, reports estimate that the price will fall around the $500 mark.

The Sony Z series was released February last year. They started out with Xperia Z, a 5 inch display, with an 1080p resolution and a waterproof feature. The same year, Xperia ZR was introduced, a 4.55 inch screen smartphone that was first released in Japan on May 17, 2013. Xperia ZL followed after that.

Other Z-series smartphones were also introduced that year and the latest addition to their Z flagship series is the Xperia Z2, which was released earlier this year.

Sony Xperia Z3 will be released on Sept. 3, 2014.
