Sony Xperia Z3 Specs Leaked: Competitor to iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4

Nearly six months after Sony's Xperia Z2 release and the Japanese tech titan is already prepping to launch its next installment in the Xperia flagship series.

Sony's bi-annual release of its flagship series is an unlikely move by all standards as other phone companies like Apple and Samsung release one flagship phone every year. However, Sony's move is understandable as the two aforementioned companies are already set to release the next installments in their own flagship series.

The Sony Xperia Z3 is set to be released in August and its specs have already leaked onto the Internet. From the looks of it, the new Z3 gets some improvements based on the Z2 specs.

The new Z3 will be getting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.4GHz processor, slightly better than the 2.3GHz processor of the Z2. RAM will still be the same on the Z3 as it was on the Z2, 3GB. For the graphics processor, it will still remain to be the Adreno 330.

The new Z3 will also be getting the new Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with an Xperia Home user interface. Some Sony exclusive apps will also be available for the Z3, much like what Sony did for the Z2 with the Sony Mobile app.

The camera on the Z3 will still be the same 20MP rear-facing camera on the Z2 and Z1. All three phones still pose as the only competition to Nokia Lumia's 900 series flagship smartphones when it comes to the camera.

The Z3 is also speculated to be more resilient and hardy than its predecessors. The sturdiness is integrated into the design of the Z3, with its metal PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating. The coating is made to resist corrosion, scratches, and abrasion. It is also designed to make the phone more resistant to impacts when dropped.

The Z3, when released, may stand as a competitor to the other still unreleased smartphones by Apple and Samsung.
