Sony Xperia Z Ultra Features, Price, Specs: Pro & Cons Of Sony's Ultra Phablet

Sony's Xperia Z Ultra is exactly what people would expect, it's an ultra phone. The Z Ultra is almost a cross between a large phone and a small tablet, or a phablet as common tech slang would suggest. Sony's Xperia phablet sports a massive 6.7-inch screen.

Surprisingly, this is Sony's first attempt at a big phone-small tablet hybrid. The only sole competitor that Sony has in this product line would be Samsung's Galaxy Note 3. It's bigger than the Note 3, but it matches it in terms of its specs

The Xperia Z Ultra comes with the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 version, but the 4.3 might come relatively soon. Its 6.7-inch screen rocks a 1920 x 1080 resolution, and with its 344ppi, the interface looks clean.

Aside from the screen, the Xperia Z Ultra has a great battery life. Normally, most smartphones and similar devices won't last a full day with heavy use. The Xperia Z Ultra may very well be an exception. TechRadar's performance test proved that the Xperia can handle drain fairly well, even having some leftover charge at the end of the day.

The specs and performance of the Xperia Z Ultra is topnotch for a phablet, but if there is anything that the Xperia Z Ultra can't do, it's taking sharp and clear pictures. The phone comes with an 8MP camera, but it does not include a flash which means that any photo taken without lighting won't get a crisp look to it.

The phone is also, as many would expect, quite expensive. It currently goes for around $675 without a SIM-slot.

Overall, the Xperia Z Ultra is a great phone with amazing specs, a beautiful screen, and an impressive performance albeit for a poorly performing camera and steep price tag.
