Sony Online's 'All Access Pass' Delayed Two Weeks, 'Looking like New Membership Plans will go Live Around 4/16... Lots of Stuff to Finish'
Sony Online's All Access Pass has been bumped back two weeks to April 16 announced studio head John Smedley on Twitter.
"Looking like new membership plans will go live around 4/16 instead of 4/2. Lots of stuff to finish," wrote Smedley on his Twitter.
The All Access Pass redesign was announced last month by Sony, and will be following a subscription plan. For $14.99 a month, those who have the service can access the company's whole catalog for the Windows PC. The subscriptions are available for three, six, and 12 months at a time.
According to Polygon, the games supported right now are: DC Universe Online, PlanetSide 2, Dragon's Prophet, EverQuest and EverQuest 2, and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. It will next add EverQuest Next and EverQuest Next Landmark.
"We are considering (and are likely going to move forward with) a plan that means if you subscribe to one of our games you are a subscriber to all our games," Smedley wrote on Twitter back in January. "That's a benefit most companies simply can't offer because they don't have our portfolio of games. The goal would be to let you pick an item in each game you play."
He then discussed why something like this would not work on the home consoles.
"We can't do the same kind of promotions as easily on the PS3 and PS4," Smedley wrote. "We're a lot more limited because we can't use Station Cash on there. So when we have a 3x sale on SC we have to do something different for our console titles. It's a pain in the neck to deal with this."
