Sonic Lost World DLC: The Legend of Zelda Zone Expansion Brings Sega's Blue Hedgehog to the Land of Hyrule (VIDEO)

Sonic Lost World received a free Legend of Zelda-inspired DLC today in the Nintendo Wii U eShop.

The Legend of Zelda Zone features everyone's favorite Blue Blur decked out in Link's signature attire as he spins through an assortment mini-quests.

In the trailer, Sonic is seen running past iconic back drops from the Zelda series. Hyrule Castle is in the background, dungeons, heart containers, and even a few enemies make a cameo in the DLC.

According to IGN, Sonic no longer carries rings, and instead has a heart meter to keep track of. Also, Sonic does not have Link's sword, boomerang, or various other items used throughout the games.

The trailer was first teased during a Nintendo presentation in December. The DLC is not the first Nintendo crossover for Sonic in this game. Last year there was a Yoshi's Island themed DLC. However, it did not go as far as the Zelda one in terms of gameplay, look, and style.

Sonic Lost World was released on the Wii U and 3DS on Oct. 29.

The trailer, which can be seen here, shows off the different gameplay features, graphics, and intense speed of the game as well as new enemies, the Deadly Six.

Sonic Lost World has stages that are reminiscent of earlier games in the franchise, but will add the 3D action-platform element to it for both the Wii U and handheld version for the 3DS.
