'Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice' Release Date, News: Title Features On Five Characters

Along with talks that Sega's "Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice" is set to be released this year, it is revealed that the title is set to feature a team of five.

Sega's forthcoming game title is an empowered party of five, according to Game Spot. As per the publication, the team includes the titular character, Sticks, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy. It is revealed that gamers can unlock Sticks, Knuckles, and Tails early in the game. Meanwhile, the hammer-wielding Amy is set to be helpful against the frozen barriers in the game.

It is also revealed that the aforementioned characters are keys to various parts of certain levels that Sonic could not access, allowing players to yield chances of replay with their special skills. In addition, the title also adds a mini runner game, which is derived from the success of Sega's "Sonic Dash" in mobile phones.

With the support characters' inclusion to "Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice," it is assumed that Sega is being faithful to the "Sonic Boom" series.

In line with the game, Sega is also set to have a new "Sonic Project." According to Twitter user SuperAJ, as cited by TSSZ News, Takashi Iizuka confirmed the plans for a new game at the Tokyo celebration on June 26. It is revealed that the project is set to be revealed at an event in San Diego, along with a live stream. As per the publication, Iisuka did not say "Next Sonic Game," but "the next Sonic" as the project.

"Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice" is set to be released on Sept. 27 in North America, Sept. 30 in Europe, and Oct. 1 in Australia.
