'Snow White and the Huntsman 2' Movie Cast Rumors, Plot Spoilers: Kristen Stewart to Return?
Universal has given the greenlight for a sequel to Sander's Snow White and the Huntsman, despite all the controversy surrounding certain cast and crew aboard the production team. The new production team will be not include the original director because of his scandal with lead actress Kristen Stewart, who was dating Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson at the time. Both parties had released apologetic statements, but that did not repair the damage to their personal and professional lives.
Stewart herself has stated back in December 2012, that the she will not be part of a Snow White and the Huntsman 2, if in fact it gets set for production. New reports have confirmed her previous statements and conclude that she's not going to be in the upcoming sequel. However, if Stewart does appear, it will be for a minor role or cameo appearance.
Current rumors focus on Chris Hemsworth to take on the role of the The Huntsman, and Charlize Theron may be returning to play The Evil Queen.
Some believe that even though Kristen Stewart will not be playing Snow White in the upcoming installment, Hemsworth and Theron's fame might just be enough to make this film a blockbuster. While there is no definite confirmation that Stewart will not return (things can always change), critics say that the other two "A-listers" should be enough to propel this film into success.
On June 26, 2014 Deadline reported that Frank Darabont, Director and writer of acclaimed films such as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile is in talks about directing the sequel, not writing for it. As it stands now, the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman has potential to change in many ways from it's original.
