Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Premiere Date, Spoilers: Episode 1 Titled 'This is War' Coming Sept. 22

New reports have emerged saying Fox Network's popular 'Sleepy Hollow' series has been pegged with a September 22 release date. Beyond that, spoilers for the upcoming Season 2 have also surfaced, providing relief to eager and anxious fans.

The first episode in the second installment is entitled, "This is War." It will showcase Ichabod being buried alive, while his wife Katrina is imprisoned by the Headless Horseman Captain Frank Irving for committing a crime.

On the other hand, fans will see Jenny, Abbie's sister in the remains of a car crash, while Abbie is ensnared in purgatory. Also, fans will find that Henry Parish is responsible for all these incidents.

According to one report, the synopsis release by Fox teases, "Now Henry's emergence as the Horseman of War, alongside the Headless Horseman, 'Sleepy Hollow' has never been so close of destruction in the all-new 'This is War' Season premiere episode."

The synopsis for Episode 1 'Sleepy Hollow' goes on to say, "Meanwhile, Moloch's malevolent forces use all the powers at their disposal in an attempt to locate a key -- once belonging to Founding Father Benjamin Franklin -- which is capable of unlocking the gates of Purgatory. After using his unique skills on an unanticipated prisoner, Sin-Eater Henry Parish discovers a clue which points him in the direction of the valuable artifact, but Crane is intent on finding it first."

In addition, the first episode of Season 2 will reveal that Ichabod ends up with the key, which he will use later to re-enter into purgatory, to fulfill a promise.
