Skye McCole Bartusiak's Mother Helen Breaks Silence Regarding Shocking Death of 'The Patriot' Actress (VIDEO)
The world is still mourning the loss of the sudden death of the young actress Skye McCole Bartusiak, especially her love ones who are completely devastated by the unexpected tragedy.
"We lost our girl," said Skye's mother Helen to CNN, "That's just so devastating. Skye was just so young. She was a kind and really beautiful girl, we think she had a seizure and choked and nobody was there."
Bartusiak was discovered dead by her boyfriend in the garage apartment at her parents' home where she lived, her mother tried to resuscitate her but it was too late.
"[The paramedics] were working on her for 45 minutes and could not get a heartbeat," said Helen, "I've done CPR on that kid more than one time and it just didn't work this time."
Helen also mentioned that her late daughter "had been healthy and did not drink or do drugs," but Skye had been having epileptic seizures recently prior to her death on Saturday.
The 21-year-old actress was best known for her role as Mel Gibson's daughter Susan Martin in popular 2000 film entitled The Patriot, which the late actor Heath Ledger also co-starred as her older brother.
Her first onscreen role was playing Hazel in the 1999 movie The Cider House Rules, which also starred Tobey Maguire, Charlize Theron, Michael Caine Erykah Badu, and Paul Rudd.
In addition, her close friend and colleague Abigail Breslin recently went on social media to express her feelings regarding her fallen comrade.
"One of my very good friends and someone who was like a sister to me, Skye McCole Bartusiak, has passed away today. So devastated," wrote Breslin on Twitter on July 19 after she found out about her friend's demise.
Skye's manager Joe Barrasso issued the following comments, according to the HollywoodLife website:
"We are all shocked and heartbroken over Skye's passing. Aside from being incredibly talented, Skye was a beautiful and loving person who will be greatly missed. We ask everybody to respect the family's privacy during this most difficult time of grieving," said Barrasso in a statement.
