Earlier this month Skillet announced an Instagram contest where fans are encouraged to submit photos of what they're "sick of." Using hashtags #sickofit and #skillet, the band will select their favorite submissions for the official lyric video.

Skillet's upcoming album, Rise is the band's first concept album. Lead singer John Cooper says the band didn't approach writing and recording for Rise with a concept in mind, it just organically happened. The story of Rise centers around an American teenager transitioning to adulthood and trying to figure out how to come to terms with a world whose values have been turned upside down.

"The narrative idea happened after we had 10 or 11 of the songs chosen," he says. "As we recorded them, we started to realize that there was something going on-that the album was really telling a story. Realizing that, I knew we needed to make it as powerful as we could."

Rise is Skillet's most ambitious project yet, both sonically and conceptually. Skillet maintains their trademark arena-rock sound with electric guitars and synths. On Rise they stretch themselves by adding natural, acoustic instruments like according, mandolin, dulcimer, harp, tympani and bells.

Skillet recorded Rise in Los Angeles with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, All American Rejects). Benson also worked with Skillet on their platinum album Awake.
