‘Sin City 2 Spoilers: Eva Green Movie Poster Deemed Too ‘Sinful’ (VIDEO)
Frank Miller's hit graphic novel, Sin City, is back on the big screen with its second installment entitled A Dame to Kill For. An official Sin City 2 website reveals the film is an intermediary of Miller's classic stories, injected with new twists.
Director Robert Rodriguez's follow-up film focuses on "the town's most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants," Rotten Tomatoes reported. The movie casts returning characters Jessica Alba (Nancy Callahan), Mickey Rourke (Marv), and Bruce Willis (John Hartigan) together with new roles by Eva Green (Ava Lord), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Johnny).
A Dame to Kill For is based on Miller's comic book Just Another Saturday Night which depicts Johnny meet up with Nancy and Hartigan, after his release from prison. Also in Sin City 2, Alba's character undergoes emotional and personal transformation due to Hartigan's attempted suicide to protect her.
"She's out for revenge. She is sick of being treated - as she puts it - 'as a piece of a**," creator Miller told Entertainment Weekly. Rodriguez added, "There's something about the way Sin City works that I thought would lend itself very well to 3-D because the images are so stripped down and abstract. You almost can see it better in 3-D. It'll be really cool."
Meanwhile, Eva Green's Sin City 2 movie poster is graded not suitable for publication, according to Motion Picture Association of America. The image, which reveals much of the actress' breasts, is deemed "too risqué" or sexually suggestive, based on Page Six's report.
Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For will be shown in theaters August 22, 2014.
