A drought in the western part of the United States is on the verge of affecting all of America. The scarcity of water has become so bad that news outlets are calling the drought "apocalyptic."

According to Telegraph.co Climate scientist Tim Barnett, the water condition in Las Vegas "is as bad as you can imagine," and affirms that unless the city "can find a way to get more water from somewhere" it will soon be "out of business."

The drought has the potential of affecting everyone in the U.S. because, as made known by CA.gov, California produces nearly half of US-grown fruits, nuts, and vegetables.

Accuweather.com reported that Colorado officials are taking steps to monitor current water levels of the Colorado River and analyze future scenarios for potential shortages. Stating that the Colorado River serves as one of the most vital water sources for the United States, providing water to nearly 40 million people in the West.

USA Today reported that things are getting so bad California water regulators approved fines up to $500 a day on Tuesday for washing cars, watering lawns, or hosing down sidewalks due to the state's severe drought and not wanting residents to waste water.

In June, nearly 80% of California was considered to be under "extreme" and "exceptional" drought conditions (the highest categories of dryness), and now according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor map the extremity of it is increasing.

The drought is also creating massive monsoons. A 3TV reporter, Jaime Cerreta, in Arizona caught the first dust storm of Monsoon 2014 that hit and the footage shows how bad the dust storms have been.

Mega droughts throughout history have lasted for more than 100 years in the United States, but Economic Collapse reporter, Michael Snyder, said that if this drought is the beginning of one of those eras, it will "fundamentally change life in America."

The increasingly growing drought has end time believers saying that the global drought can be a sign that the end is near.
