ShowHope Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary: Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman Non-Profit Hits 10 Year Mark
Non-profit adoption organization ShowHope hits the 10 year mark this summer. Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman founded the organization a decade ago, with the goal of helping families through the process of adoption. It does this by providing homes for waiting children through financial aid for families who feel lead to adopt. But, they don't just stop there. They also provide medical care to orphans with special needs through their Special Care Centers built out of single floors of existing Chinese orphanages. Health care for any child can be expensive and ShowHope understands that this is no different for orphans. They attend to the needs of the children abroad as well as their adopted families domestically. One of the biggest ways that they do this is through Maria's Big House of Hope. This is a 60,000 square foot facility in China that houses around 120 special needs orphans.
They also provide financial aid in the form of adoption grants to US families, having awarded over 2,000 grants already, totaling over $1 million a year. With popular Christian artists like Andrew Peterson on board, ShowHope actively broadcasts the details of their ministry, reaching over 500,000 concert and event attendees since starting their partnership.
