Shovel Knight is a retro 8-bit platformer created by Yacht Club Games ported to the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and PC. The game was only recently released June 27 on Steam for the PC as well as for the 3DS, and Wii U.

Yacht Games and Steam describe the game as, "a sweeping classic action adventure game with awesome gameplay, memorable characters, and an 8-bit retro aesthetic created by Yacht Club Games."

"You play as the eponymous Shovel Knight, a small knight with an extensive quest. Shovel Knight has come to this valley with two goals: to defeat the evil Enchantress and save his lost beloved. He wields a ShovelBlade; a multipurpose weapon whose techniques have now been lost to the ages," the description adds.

The game has been on the market for barely a month, but it has already been praised for its intuitive, old-school gameplay. Beyond its great reception, cheat codes for the game have emerged via IGN and Steam threads.

One of the more popular cheat codes is one that replaces most of Shovel Knight's nouns with "butt." This has resulted in funny dialogues for the Shovel Knight, now dubbed after inputting the cheat as "butt butt."

To input cheats, players must create a new save file and name it with the cheat code. For the case of the "butt mode," players will have to enter "WSWWAEAW." The save file will now be in that name and the cheat will be activated. Once activated though, the cheats will not allow players to get in-game achievements.

The cheat only affects the particular save and each cheat code can only be input on one save file. Basically, there can only be one cheat code present per save file.
