Sherri Shepherd Leaves 'The View', 'The Number 7 is God’s Number of Completion...My Time...is Now Complete' (VIDEO)

Sherri Shepherd is leaving The View after seven years and believes her timing is God's divine way of saying her time is over.

Along with Shepherd's departure, the comedian's good friend Jenny McCarthy announced that she too would be leaving the show, which leaves Whoopi Goldberg as the sole remaining cast member. ABC said in a statement on the matter, "The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively."

Shepherd took to Twitter to publicly announce that she felt it was time to go:

UsMagazine.com reported that the two hosts are leaving The View for different reasons. Allegedly Shepherd and the network could not reach a compromise on her contract demands, "There were negotiations but they were unable to reach an agreement," a source close to the show told US.

"It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on," Shepherd said in a personal statement to Deadline, "I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey."

Shepherd also had some words of wisdom to share on her Twitter.

Shepherd and McCarthy developed a close relationship while on the show and McCarthy posted that she was sticking by her new friend.

The View is set to commence hiatus next week after their June 27th episode was pre-taped. No further information has been released.
