Sherri Shepherd Divorce/Custody Battles: TV Host Has Not Spoken Out But is Asking 'God to Take Control' of Negative Situation (VIDEO)
Comedian/Actress and "View" co-host Sherri Shepherd is going through a very public divorce to her husband of nearly three years, Lamar Sally. Now her ex-husband has stepped in to try and discredit her character even more. Throughout it all, the TV personality has remained silent and is placing her trust in Jesus.
Sally filed for legal separation and soon after Shepherd filed for divorce. Although the comic has remained mum about the split on "The View," Monday afternoon she retweeted a quote she had been flagged to.
"I know that for me I have to get out of the way and let God take control," it said.
Shepherd also posted, "Silence can't be misquoted," which explains why she probably has not spoken out about the matter.
After getting married in 2011, Sherri and Lamar decided to have a child together through surrogate. Their first child is due in July, and according to TMZ when Sally filed for divorce he demanded full physical and legal custody of their unborn baby. He also allegedly wants Shepherd to only be allowed visitation, and asked that the prenup be voided because of fraud.
In the midst of fighting to keep custody of her unborn child, another story emerged on TMZ of Shepherd's first husband Jeffrey Tarpley wanting full custody of their child, 9-year-old Jeffrey Jr.
Tarpley allegedly filed for custody before news broke of her current marriage, and Tarpley claimed Sherri's non-stop work schedule on the "The View," "The Newlywed Game," various TV acting roles, book tours, films all has caused her to neglect their special needs son completely.
Shepherd not making any comments on that case either did take to Twitter to tweet how grateful to God she is for her son. "Peeked in & watched Jeffrey sleeping ... Softly thanked. ?#Jesus for the gift of being a mother. Nothing as fulfilling as 'I love you mommy,' she tweeted.
As a sister of the faith who is heavily under attack, through Shepherd's tweets it is evident she is trusting in God. Remember to pray for Shepherd and her family in as she faces these difficult times.
