Sheldon Cooper Leaving 'Big Bang Theory' for Season 8 Confirmed as Hoax

Recent reports claimed that 'Big Bang Theory' star Jim Parsons would not be reprising his role for the show's eighth season. This turned out to be false, as the media outlet that broke the story, Empire News, is a satirical entertainment website.

The article on Empire News about Parsons' departure read, "It looks as though of the most beloved characters on television today, Sheldon Cooper, won't be returning to The Big Bang Theory for its 8th season, after actor Jim Parsons has walked-off set and quit the show because of an on-set fight with co-star Johnny Galecki."

Soon after, the story hit social media sites and tricked many fans of the show into believing that one of their favorite characters was gone for good. One fan on Facebook said, "Big Bang Theory without Sheldon Cooper will be like The Office without Michael Scott. The die-hard fans will watch disappointed just to see how it ends, but it will never recover to the glory it had without the character that made us all tune in at the start. Jim Parsons/Sheldon is who kept me watching through many (though enjoyed) monotonous story lines, he will be truly missed if he does not return."

The news article mentioned that an on-set fight between Parsons and Galecki was the main reason for Sheldon Cooper's removal from the show. However, some fans may not have read the disclaimer at the bottom of Empire News that reads, "Empire News is a satirical and entertainment website. We only use invented names in all our stories, except in cases when public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental."

Good news is, Sheldon Cooper will be appearing in the all new Season 8 of 'Big Bang Theory' when it returns. Fans can rest assured that their favorite and quirky theoretical physicist will make them laugh once again.

Additionally, sources have said that there will be three more seasons of the show, before it finally wraps up for it's series finale.
