Sheen Changes Name For Upcoming Film "Machete Kills"

Sheen changes name for new film. Since his first Hollywood movie, Red Dawn, actor Charlie Sheen has has used his "American Name" for every film or TV role that he's ever been in. But he's using his birth name and embracing his Latino heritage for his new film "Machete Kills." He's using his birth name, Carlos Estevez, for his billing in the new film.

The Estevez/Sheen name history is long as it is complicated. His father, Martin Sheen, was originally born as Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez. He only decided to change his name to Martin Sheen in order to have a better chance to be a US actor. But, he never officially and legally changed his name. This led to all four of his children to adopt his legl last name, Estevez. His son Charlie Sheen kept his original name until he also wanted to become an actor. At that time, he changed his to match that of his father's.

But now, for the first time in his long acting career, Sheen uses his birth name. This is most likely to fit in with his latino costars on the film. Carlos Estevez joins an all-star cast, with Danny Trejo, Amber Heard, Mel Gibson, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Antonio Banderas, Cuba Gooding Jr., and more.
