'Shadow Warrior' PS4, Xbox One Release Date This September
The 2013 remake of the 'Shadow Warrior' game for the PC is coming to the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One on September 26.
The original 'Shadow Warrior' game first appeared on the PC in 1997. It was a first-person shooter game by 3D Realms which featured protagonist Lo Wang, an assassin working for the Japanese industrial magnate, Orochi Zilla.
Wang's assignment was to retrieve a legendary blade from a collector named Miyazaki at the price of $2 million. The collector refuses the offer and Wang tries to take it by force, which gets him captured and locked up.
In a turn of events, demons from another world begin attacking the residence and Miyazaki is killed. Wang manages to escape and is assisted by a spirit named Hoji. The spirit explains that the blade is able to kill immortals and demons and tasks Wang of finding all three swords that comprised the blade, called Nobitsura Kage.
The game was remade by Flying Wild Hog and was published by Devolver Digital, where it was released in 2013 on Steam and GOG.com. Only later was it sold in retail stores. Now, the game is being ported to the Xbox One and Playstation 4.
"Our fans have been very vocal about bringing Shadow Warrior to Playstation 4 and Xbox One so we're absolutely thrilled to be working with our friends at Bandai Namco to have Wang bring a sword to a gunfight," said Fork Parker from Devolver Digital.
The port to the next-gen consoles will also include added content like a new Arena Mode, new Campaign Content, and also exclusive weapons.
