Selma Blair is Out of a Job, Anger Management Co-Star Leaves Charlie Sheen Show In A Hurry
Selma Blair's time on the FX show "Anger Management" has come to a close. Only days after it was reported that main star Charlie Sheen was quoted as saying that we would "not set foot" on the set of the show, Selma Blair was fired.
Producer Lionsgate said in a statement Tuesday that the actress won't be returning. The company wished Blair the "very best", but when asked, refused to give any other comments about the situation. Blair's publicist also refused to comment about the situation, as did both Sheen's management and the FX network.
This is the culmination of the latest whirlwind of Sheen-drama, when Blair went to the producers of the show to complain about Sheen. TMZ reported that she told producers that Sheen was "impossible to work with." As you can imagine, once Charlie Sheen got wind of this information, he was none too pleased and issued the decree, demanding that either she go or he would.
The producers sided with Sheen, most likely because of his greater star power, Hollywood pedigree, and his ownership stake in the show.
It is unreported how Blair's character will be written out of the show or what the show's cast will do following her departure.
