Selena Gomez went from starring on "Barney and Friends" with a big purple dinosaur, to allegedly "hooking up" with Ed Sheeran, a big ginger songwriter. The Us Weekly is reporting an overseas relationship between to the two "tween" phenoms.

Taylor Swift reportedly introduced the two while Sheeran and Swift were on tour. 

"They are hooking up!" a source close to the couple told the Us Weekly.

Another source spilled: "They are friends with an open mind. He's sensitive and sweet and a lot deeper than Justin."

Yes, we all the know Justin in question here. You know the same one that wears the oversize baseball hats, drives cheetah-print automobiles, has a best friend whose first name is "Lil'".

Apparently Selena was fed up with Bieber's childish behavior and needed someone a lot more mature. Bieber's recent party fling with Miley Cyrus was apparently the nail in the coffin for Gomez and is now on the prowl.

"She got sick of having to take care of Justin like he was her child," anothe source told Us Weekly. "This is a nice escape from the drama."

Though Sheeran, 22, confessed he was single at the MuchMusic Video Awards, he did at least admit to being attracted to the 20-year old Disney starlet. When asked about "hooking up" with Gomez, Sheeran replied:

"I wouldn't complain."

Even though I really can't stand Sheeran's music, the guys seems to have a good sense of humor. Unlike Justin Bieber, Sheeran doesn't seem to take his superstar status too seriously.
