Scandal Season 4 Spoilers: Plot Line Not Even Known By Cast, Claims Kerry Washington, Columbus Short Leaving

'Scandal', the American political thriller series starring Kerry Washington who plays as character Olivia Pope, is preparing for its new season and fans are eager to know what happens next after the cliffhanger finale to the past season.

Currently, the series ended with the third season and is already in production of the fourth season. Season 3 ended with Olivia Pope boarding a plane after quitting her job. The president suffers a situational meltdown in the Oval Office and calls Olivia's phone. Pope doesn't answer the call and sets her phone in a nearby cup-holder.

Regarding any leads on what would happen in the fourth season, remains a mystery. Kerry Washington revealed to USA Today that no one knows the plot line to the next season, not even the cast.

"We don't have a script yet. I don't even know if that plane is going to Turks or Caicos or maybe it had engine trouble and is right back in D.C. I don't know where she's going. It's pretty crazy. You can't thrive with this material unless you're willing to embrace the unknown. I'm type A, hyper prepared - it challenges me to surrender to these writers," she admitted.

With no glimpse of the plot line anywhere, fans and viewers are only left to guess as to what would happen next.

The next season will also see the departure of series regular, Columbus Short who plays Harrison Wright. The actor announced his departure from the show back in April after his wife claimed he threatened her with a knife. Since then, the actor has been charged a million-dollar lawsuit for misdemeanor spousal battery and has lost his role.

"I think, at a certain point, when you're hearing a barrage of stories after stories, ABC justifiably would want to distance themselves. They did the right thing," Short said about being fired.
