"Scandal' show runner Shonda Rhimes has recently revealed that Season 4 of the hit TV show will put the spotlight on lead character Olivia Pope once again. It can be recalled that Season 3 did not revolve around Kerry Washington's famous character because of her real life pregnancy.

In an interview with TV Guide, Rhimes mentioned that the new season will also be Abby's season, "A lot of what we know about Abby happens this season. A lot of what we discover about her and see about her back story will happen as we tell Abby's story," said Rhimes.

"Scandal' ended its third season with Olivia boarding a plane as she heads off to an undisclosed destination, and she holds herself responsible for the death of Fitz's son and everything that has been happening around her. Jake was with her on the plane as well. There is a lot of speculation where the plane is expected to land.

Meanwhile, in the case of Jake, Olivia, and Fitz's love triangle, Rhimes said that Olivia made it clear to Jake in Season 3 that she loved Fitz, and yet Jake still decided to follow Olivia. The executive producer told TV Guide, "So whatever that relationship [Jake and Olivia] is, as fun or romantic or happy as that will be, she's very clearly in love with another man. I don't know what that holds for them. They have to face whatever that's going to mean."

Rhimes also stated that a lot of things will be very different in Season 4, "The world we are coming back to will be forever changed and forever different, and that is going to be very interesting."

"Scandal' Season 4 will air on September 25 on ABC.
