‘Scandal’ Season 4 Spoilers, News: Episode Showcases Couples' Reunion & Returning Characters

Season four of the ABC political drama 'Scandal' will feature a much-awaited, face-to-face encounter between President Fitzgerald Grant III and Olivia Pope.

Pope and Grant have shared many moments in the past seasons, and episode two of this season has showed them exchanging interesting looks so far.

Spoilers suggest that the reunion will have President Grant asking Pope of what she did last summer, and fans believe the he will be upset to hear her answer.

Pope was whisked away to a deserted tropical island by her current flame Jake Ballard, a CIA director, over the summer. The news will not be taken lightly, according to sources.

The new season is said to explore their troubled extramarital affair even more, in light of Grant's continuing presidential term, marriage to Mellie, and their son Jerry's death in season three.

Pope, on the other hand, is still in a relationship with Ballard, who is Grant's former friend turned enemy.

Some fans are rooting for Pope and Grant, and looked forward to the couple finally settling down after finishing his presidency and separating from Mellie. But unfortunately, their dream will be put on hold for now.

Meanwhile, Paul Adelstein will be returning this season. He will reprise the role of Leo Bergen, a political campaign consultant, for an upcoming episode in November.

His last appearance was in last season's finale, as a consultant for presidential candidate Sally Langston, who had ultimately lost to Grant.

On a side note, Adelstein will also star in Bravo's 'Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce'.

'Fringe' actress Jasika Nicole is also rumored to come back this season as Kim, Huck's husband. Huck was a former black ops agent and now a member of Pope's crisis management team.

'Scandal' which was created by Shonda Rhimes, debuted on April 5, 2012. It airs every Thursday at 9 pm on ABC.
