Scandal Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers: Biggest Question of Season 3, Where is Olivia Pope?

The new promo for the fourth season of the political thriller series 'Scandal' shows Olivia Pope's whereabouts.

The ending of the third season of the show left the viewers with the question "Where is Olivia Pope?" after Pope was seen boarding a private jet with Jake to an unknown destination. Now, with the new promo for the upcoming season, the viewers were given a glimpse at where the lead character is, according to MTV.

The promo starts with a phone ringing while Pope's apartment, her office, and the Oval Office are shown. The clip make it seem like the President is trying to contact Pope, and Pope is not picking up her phone.

At the end of the promo, Pope is seen sporting a curly hairstyle while she is relaxing on a beach.

In addition to the promo, ABC also releases the official synopsis for the first episode of the fourth season. Entitled "Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia," the premiere episode's synopsis reads:

"Nearly two months after Olivia and Jake boarded a private jet to stand in the sun together, everything has changed. With another four years in the White House, Fitz and Cyrus are doing everything they can to make a positive impact on the nation. Meanwhile, Mellie struggles to cope with the loss of her son and the gladiators feel the impact of Olivia's absence."

Meanwhile, there has been a recast for the role President Fitzgerald Grant's First Daughter, according to Entertainment Weekly. The role of Karen Grant, previously belonged to Madeline Carroll, will now be played by Mary Mouser.

The recast was done since Carroll is unable to continue working on the show due to scheduling conflicts. Mouser will make her 'Scandal' spot in an episode in the upcoming season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The fourth season of "Scandal" premieres on September 25 on ABC.
