‘Scandal’ Season 4 Premiere Live Stream Free, Spoilers, ABC Start Time: Show to Focus on Main Characters Again
ABC's political television drama 'Scandal' will premiere its Season 4 on Sept. 25, so fans can once again watch Olivia Pope's scandalous life on their television sets every Thursday night at 9/8c.
Even though a few hours are left before the premiere of 'Scandal' Season 4, fans are anxiously waiting to know what the show creator, Shonda Rhimes, has in store for them this time around. In fact, the Season 3 finale ended with major cliffhangers which makes the fans seriously eager.
In Season 3's finale, fans saw Olivia, played by Kerry Washington, leaving her firm and flying in a private plane with Jake, played by Scott Foley. Before she left, Olivia said farewell to her boyfriend Fitz (Tony Goldwyn). A report by the TVGuide says that when Season 4 premieres tonight fans will immediately know where Olivia and Jake spent the past two months and how they spent it.
Talking to the TVGuide, Washington said, "The cool thing we can gather from being here is what we're doing feels very old-school. The people in the room are not who you expect them to be, but we're getting back to the show's core." This means that Washington is saying that 'Scandal' Season 4 will go back to what made the show so popular in the first place. They will be focusing on the main characters of the show, which will surely maintain the ratings, if not increase them.
Meanwhile, Goldwyn, who plays Fitz, shared his opinion about what Olivia did. It seems that Goldwyn doesn't endorse Olivia's decision to leave his character. He said that she ran away from Fitz right when he lost his son, Jerry. Nevertheless, while Goldwyn doesn't agree with Olivia's decision, he respects what Shonda Rhimes has done with the story.
On her part, Rhimes disclosed why it was necessary to separate Olivia and Fitz. "We were telling a very specific story that had to culminate in both Liv and Fitz breaking down to some extent."
"The finale wiped the slate clean," Rhimes said, adding, "One thing I wanted was for Season 4 to not be as dark. I remember Kerry saying, 'What am I thinking in that moment on the plane?' And I said, 'That is your first step in your journey back toward something more positive, toward being your old self."
