Season three of hit ABC drama "Scandal" aired last night, shocking fans. But even more shocking is the fact that the network hasn't yet picked up the show for a fourth season. With numerous cliffhangers left from the third season, a fourth season is necessary.

Though ABC hasn't yet renewed "Scandal," the creator of the show is not worried. Shonda Rhimes tweeted a message to fans stating her confidence that "Scandal" will have a fourth season.

"Nobody should be worried. ABC has not done its pickups yet for next season. They always do them in like, early May...But um...clearly, you can assume good news," Rhimes said via Twitter.

So, fans of the show can breathe a sigh of relief.

Season three of "Scandal" was originally supposed to have the traditional 22 epiosdes, but the season was cut short. Season three had only 18 episodes. However ths isn't because ABC wasn't happy with the show. The season was cut short due to star Kerry Washington's real life pregnancy. Kerry Washington plays Olivia Pope on the show.
