In 'Scandal' Season 4, Episode 9, which airs on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 9 pm on ABC, fans will be seeing Maya Pope, Olivia's mother, returning with a view to settle some old scores. The upcoming episode has been entitled, "Where The Sun Don't Shine."

The 'Scandal' Season 4 mid-season finale spoilers from Celebrity Dirty Laundry say that Season 3 of the political thriller series ended with a number of changes in Washington D.C. One such important change was Rowan Pope (played by Joe Morton) allowing his wife Maya Pope (played by Khandi Alexander) to survive.

In fact, viewers are now aware that Maya is an international terrorist who has even tried to kill the President. While her misdemeanor to kill the him did not succeed, she managed to kill several people in a church bombing.

Moreover, Maya was also directly responsible for shooting down a commercial flight some years back. Nevertheless, the 'Scandal' Season 4 mid-season finale spoilers suggest that the show creators will be bringing back Maya Pope, and they will be doing so with considerable excitement.

In "Where The Sun Don't Shine", fans will see Maya Pope returning from her residence in Command's infamous hole. Viewers should remember that though Command, or Rowan Pope, might be somewhat of a bad guy, he actually has nothing do to with Maya Pope, who is literally a "loose cannon" of sorts. Actually, the only person in the world that Maya Pope loves is her daughter, Olivia. This aspect of Maya Pope clearly represents a conflict of interests for her.

Frankly speaking, this is one of the reasons why Maya Pope adamantly attempted to kill the President in Season 4 of the show. Killing the President would mean setting Olivia "free" in a sense. However, it is unfortunate that she was blamed for killing the President's son, which the viewers know was actually the handiwork of Rowan.

Even the President, Jake, and Olivia now know the truth, as Olivia succeeds in skillfully manipulating Tom into confessing. Now, it will definitely be interesting to see how these people play with this information in the upcoming episode of the popular show.
