Satanic Images Drawn in Catholic Woman's Starbucks Coffee Sparks Online Outrage; Company Issues Apology (VIDEO)

A public school teacher was shocked to find satanic imagery decorated in her coffee and after she took to Facebook to address her outrage Starbucks issued an apology response.

Megan K Pinion, a practicing Catholic from Louisiana, was surprised that a barista could not contain his religious beliefs. Satanic images with caramel were drawn on her coffee.

One drink was decorated with a pentagram, while the other featured the numbers '666'.

She immediately posted a picture of the insulting cups on Starbucks's Facebook page, where it gained more than 700 shares and 1,500 likes.

"I am in no way judging his beliefs or dis-meriting his beautiful artwork, I am however judging his lack of professionalism and respect for others. I am a teacher in the public school system and if I were to present a child of atheist or pagan believers with a Christian art project I could be sued in a heartbeat. I am of Catholic faith and would love to share in my beliefs daily. Fortunately I have enough common sense to present myself with professionalism and follow an ethics code. Perhaps that could be suggested to that particular location," she wrote.

Starbucks took the baristas artistic liberties seriously, and the company issued an apology to Pinion.

"[Sunday] was the first we heard of it when she posted on our Facebook page," Starbucks social media spokesman Tom Kuhn told the Advertiser. "We reached out to her through social media and apologized. We're taking the complaint seriously. We're not sure who served her or what kind of beverage it was. It looks kind of caramel-ish in the photos."

When asked if this case might cause them to review their policy on foam art, Mr. Kuhn added: 'I don't know; I guess it could.'
