The San Francisco Giants faces the St. Louis Cardinals on October 11 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. The game will start at 8:00 pm ET and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided below (free for subscribers).
As the Cardinals return to NLCS for the fifth consecutive season, they look to secure a home field advantage victory when they face the Giants in their upcoming match.
Cardinals hope their usually reliable ace Adam Wainwright (20-9, 2.38) will rebound from his previous terrible start in Game 1 of the NLDS (against the LA Dodgers), when St. Louis now looks to take a 1-0 lead versus the Giants in the upcoming NLCS series between two of the best teams in the MLB.
"He's just been grinding," said Cardinals manager Mike Matheny to reporters in reference to his best pitcher's recent struggles on the mound despite having a terrific regular season.
"And when you've been grinding, there are just days where you can't get it right. He was having trouble that Game 1 (of the NLDS). He's thrown a lot of innings. He's had a lot of work. But that's what your ace does."
Meanwhile, The Giants are looking to continue their recent success in the postseason, but first San Francisco must eliminate St. Louis in the best-of-seven series in the National League Championship Series.
Giants first baseman Brandon Belt revealed his thoughts about the similarities between his club and the squad from the 'Show Me State'.
"They remind me a lot of us," said Belt to reporters, "They've had a lot of success in the postseason."
