The San Antonio Spurs (40-15) will look to see off a tough challenge from the Phoenix Suns (32-21) at US Airways Center tonight in Phoenix in a huge game in the NBA.

The San Antonio Spurs returned from the All-Star break with a pair of remarkable road victories versus the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers on two consecutive nights.

The Spurs will now attempt to win a fourth straight game minus star point guard Tony Parker while ending a season-high nine-game road trip tonight versus the Phoenix Suns, another Western Conference playoff challenger that has also returned from the break on a two game winning streak.

While the Spurs have won six of the first eight on their yearly road trip, there has been more to it than simply a range of wins across the nation.

The development of backup Patty Mills might be the most promising aspect, and it continued Wednesday night as the fifth-year guard scored 29 points in a 111-109 victory against Portland, his former team, with Parker and Tim Duncan sidelined.

"For me, it's just been learning from great guys," said Mills to reporters adding. "We've got three future Hall of Famers and a great coach, so I've just sat back and learned."
