The San Antonio Spurs (62-20) will face off against the Dallas Mavericks (49-33) at the AT&T Center on Sunday afternoon in San Antonio as the NBA 2014 Playoffs get underway.

The Spurs will be the big favorites for Sunday's game because they have the best record in the NBA this season. The Spurs recently lost to the Los Angeles Lakers by the final score of 113-100 on Wednesday night. Kawhi Leonard scored only 14 points in a losing effort for the Spurs two nights ago.

The Spurs are looking to win their fifth championship this year.

"We're impressed, but it doesn't matter," said Leonard to reporters. "We're trying to win a championship. We're the No. 1 seed, but the playoffs are coming up. [The regular season is] behind us."

The Mavericks are looking to upset the Spurs on the road Sunday afternoon when the two teams battle each other in the first round of the playoffs. The Mavericks lost to the Memphis Grizzles by the final score of 106-105 on Wednesday night in the final game of the season.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points in a losing effort for the Mavericks two nights ago. Now the Mavericks look to defeat the championship caliber opponent on Sunday afternoon. The Mavericks are looking to win their second championship this year.

"Tonight is a good indication of the fight we have in us, and we're going to take that fight to San Antonio," said Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle to reporters after the game on Wednesday night.
