Samsung Galaxy Tab A & A Plus Specs Rumors: New Tablets to Debut at Unpacked Event in March?

Late last year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Samsung announced it was working on four new tablets for Q1 of 2015.

Critics have chided the tech giant in recent months over their poor showing in the tablet category.

It's likely that Samsung hopes to shake things up with the release of their newest line of tablet devices and remain competitive with popular products in the category like the Apple iPad.

According to Sam Mobile, the new Galaxy Tab A and A Plus will make its debut at the Samsung Unpacked Consumer Event next month.

Speculation that Samsung will include the unveiling of new tablets in its unpacked event on March 1 stems from the fact that it has been some time between introductions of new products in the tablet field.

At the recent Samsung press conference, no tablets devices were announced.

With the technology sector being an ever-changing landscape, industry standards suggest that a new generation of Samsung tablets is long overdue but the company has not confirmed or denied whether it plans to release these new offerings.

The Galaxy Tab A and A Plus will both be priced to cater to the mid-range market, and while the specs for the new tablet fall below current industry standards, the price tag will be low.

By offering a mid-range device, Samsung hopes to lure eager buyers in the market for a tablet without the cash to buy an expensive product.

The Tab A Plus will feature a stylus, and both will be sold in 8-inch and 9.7-inch options. According to Ubergizmo, the 8-inch Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus will feature a quad-core processor and will offer a display with a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels.

The new tablets will support will run the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, and each will feature 16GB of expandable storage, a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera and a 4,200-mAh battery.

However, there has not been a formal announcement by Samsung regarding the new tablets.
