Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 vs. Amazon Kindle Fire Specs Comparison: Galaxy Tab 3 Wins Battle

As more and more tech companies decide to release their idea of a tablet, consumers are faced with addition factors when trying to buy one. While the choices seem endless for consumers looking for the right tablet to suit their needs, a price and specs comparison could surely help.

Samsung is known solely for its Android phones and tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is one such tablet and comes in three variants. The 7.0, 8.0, and the 10.1, each corresponding to what screen size the tablet possesses (7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inches respectively). The 7-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab 3 will be pitted against the Amazon Kindle Fire in this comparison.

Both tablets possess a 7-inch screen, but differ in screen resolutions. The Kindle Fire has a 1280 x 800 screen resolution while the Galaxy Tab 3 has a reduced 1024 x 600 screen resolution. The Kindle Fire is sharper when it comes to display, but the Galaxy Tab 3 has more colors.

In terms of taking pictures, the Kindle Fire is not the greatest choice because it does not have a read-facing camera. However, it does have a 1.3 MP front-facing one, which is great for video calls. On the other hand, The Galaxy Tab 3 has a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, and a 3MP rear-facing camera, which is not great for photo quality, but it's better than nothing at all.

Performance-wise, this is where the Galaxy Tab 3 might have a lead against the Kindle Fire. The Tab 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core 1.7GHz Krait 300 processor and 1.5GB of RAM. This is fairly powerful tablet for its class.

The Kindle Fire on the other hand has a TI OMAP4460 dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 and only has 1GB of RAM. By all means, the Kindle Fire is less powerful than the Galaxy Tab 3, but it still does most functions reliably.

Overall, the Galaxy Tab 3 might be the better tablet with a higher performance and a rear-facing camera, but its screen resolution puts off its advantages a little bit. Users might consider getting the Galaxy Tab 3 since both are priced the same at $200.
