Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date Rumors: Higher Screen Resolutions and Aluminum Body?
Even with the fairly recent release of the Samsung Galaxy S5, the company is already set to launch a newer version of its flagship smartphone series. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is already prepped for a 2015 release, but a specific date has not been officially issued by the company.
The details about the specifications of the phone are still unconfirmed and remain as rumors, but it is possible that the 2015 Galaxy S6 release will sport an even higher resolution screen, one higher than the S5's 1080 full HD resolution.
Samsung has been hinting that the late 2014 releases will have WQHD 2560 x 1440 resolution screens. There is also the speculation that the S6, despite being part of the flagship phone series, will fall between Samsung's technology cycles.
The company won't be stopping with the WQHD offerings on their phones. There are already rumors that Samsung will push towards UHD 3840 x 2160 resolution displays in their 2015 releases. This will be unfortunate for the S6 since it will fall short of the UHD release.
Instead, the S6 is set to mimic the LG G3 smartphone with its QHD display. Aside from the upgraded screen resolution, the S6 is also rumored to possess a curved flexible display. The S6 will also be reportedly bigger than the rest of its predecessors with a probable 5.2 or 5.3-inch screen size. There is still room however, for the screen size to become a bit bigger.
Lastly, Samsung is planning to finally end their line of plastic body phones. There is speculation that starting with the S6, the body will be completely made out of aluminum, much like the current generation iPhones.
