Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Features Rumors: New Flexible Screen Coming August 2014

Excitement towards the future generation Samsung S smartphone is growing by the day, as the company has hinted that it may use a flexible display for the first time in the Galaxy S line of smartphones, similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Round.

Although the Samsung Galaxy Round has not been very popular, it has not deterred Samsung from making further investments in the technology for its forthcoming devices. It is also being rumored that the company's upcoming Galaxy Note 4 will also incorporate this same flexible technology.

In fact, Samsung has already announced that its A3 factory, which will concentrate on manufacturing flexible devices, is on the verge of completion. Earlier, Samsung stated that it was working on a "new form factor" for its forthcoming Galaxy Note device and it definitely has a connotation.

Although Samsung Galaxy Round had a very limited release, it seems that Samsung will be focusing on the flexible display technology with a view to remain in competition with its rivals.

LG has already embraced the flexible display and recent reports say that it has helped the company to bag a major order from Apple for a whopping 12 million flexible PLED display units, supposedly for its iWatch gadget.

This is an indication of the fact that in future we will be seeing more products with flexible displays, especially smartphones.

Unconfirmed reports say that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will sport a three-sided YOUM flexible display. The notification apps will be on the curved edges of the device, enabling the user to see them from an angle.

Some rumors are claiming that Samsung will schedule the release of Galaxy S6 sometime for August 2014. According to earlier rumors, the company was scheduled to release the S6 in 2015, but the release date has reportedly been advanced, as the company wants to remain in competition and maintain its sales.
