Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date: Fans Must Wait, Only One Flagship At A Time

Since the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been on sale for the past few months, rumors about the release of its successor have made waves on the web.

If the release would come next year it could be difficult for Samsung fans to switch to the updated flagship. It would even be harder to decide since other smartphone companies' next installations like the iPhone 6, Nexus 6 and the Galaxy Note 4 are already set for release.

Though there are no official statements from the company, it is very unlikely that S6 would arrive this year.

Samsung has a history of launching just one smartphone flagship per year. If they will follow their tradition, that means Galaxy Note 4 will be the only release this year. Note 4 is expected to launch in September.

Analysts also said that Samsung strategized the S6's release and would want it to be launched after iPhone 6. It is reported that S6 would be launched during the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in 2015.

As for the specs, it is rumored that the phone will have a SuperAMOLED screen and will have a 5.5 in display. It is slightly bigger than S5 and could be closely compared to LG G3.

In terms of the screen resolution, it is possible that S6 would also match the LG G3 and would offer a Quad HD (1440x2560).

There were also rumors of S6 having a curved or flexible display, just like the Galaxy Round.

S5 was slammed because of its plastic built and poor casing quality so it is rumored that S6 would use graphene to have a stronger built material.

No update on the camera, but since S5 has a 13MP capacity, it is said that S6 could deliver a premium 20MP camera.
