Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery Problems: Steps To Improve Battery Life

According to reports, as well as forum posts by its users, the Samsung Galaxy S5's has surprisingly low battery life.

Many have allegedly complained that the S5, which is one of the latest flagship Smartphone from Samsung, has a disappointing battery lifespan. According to some forum posts, when the S5 is left on standby, its battery life can only last about 10 hours.

Another problem that Samsung S5 users are allegedly enduring is the phone's tendency to overheat when in prolonged use. The S5 is encased in full plastic body, which should have less heat conductibility than the metal-clad phones.

Samsung has yet to comment on the increasing number of both battery life and overheating complaints.

There are a few things a Samsung Galaxy S5 user can do to preserve the phone's battery and make it last longer than it normally would. A basic and very common tip is to close apps running in the background.

Apps that are not necessarily needed to run on its own when not in use should be left closed - including (but not limited to) the phone's camera, social media apps, and more importantly, games.

If possible, turn off the mobile data as well as the WiFi feature whenever they're not in use.

Another thing that would help improve the S5's battery life is to adjust the display's brightness to a lower level. Samsung's pristine display also takes its toll on the Smartphone's battery, as all of its other advanced features do.
