Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Release Date: United States Launch - January 2015
In latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update news, information about Samsung's release of the OS on their Galaxy S5 device has leaked ahead of a formal announcement. While the mobile operating system has been released in small regions outside of the U.S, this will mark the first time that it will reach the Galaxy S5 device in the United States.
According to a report by GottabeMobile, Samsung started to provide their Galaxy line of devices (including Galaxy S5) with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update earlier this year. Now that the KitKat roll out is well underway and heavily used by Galaxy device owners, Samsung has decided to move forward with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Techies know that the operation system was subject to various versions and leaks well before it was ever released in a region on a set of devices. With regards to the Galaxy S5, the OS was first launched in Poland as a soak test.
Now Samsung is ready to launch the Android 5.0 OS officially on the Galaxy S5 early next year. GottabeMobile went ahead and reported that users of the Galaxy S5 in the U.S can expect to be able to download the software in January, 2015.
In regards to the features and details that users can expect to see when they install Android 5.0 Lollipop on their devices, the only place they can turn for now are leaks and rumors. However, this is not an accurate way to get a feel for the operation system, as an official version will surely provide the proper experience.
Stepping into other Galaxy line devices that will be receiving the Android 5.0 L, GBM says, "Samsung will start pushing Android 5.0 Lollipop ... [on] the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, and eventually proceed to update the popular Galaxy S4 and Note 3 from 2013."
As is stands, Galaxy device users are surely happy that they will finally be able to update their mobile operating system to the Google's latest version.
