Samsung Galaxy S4 vs HTC One Review: Camera, Features, Specs [VIDEO]
If Chuck Norris were a smartphone...which smartphone would he be? For today's purposes let's limit the choices to the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One.
When comparing the size of the Galaxy S4 to HTC One, little separates the two phones. Though GS4 is lighter and wider (5-inch display) while the HTC One's 4.7-inch screen makes it a little easier to grip. In terms of size it's a tie.
Same goes with the display. The HTC One may have a smaller 4.7-inch 1080p HD IPS display. But it's resolution and brightness outperform the Galaxy S 4's larger 5-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass Super AMOLED display, boasting 441 pixels per inch. Still, with the GS4's excellent video quality, I give both phones the same grade.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One operate on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2. However the OS on each phone functions completely different. The Galaxy S4 operating system has a ton of ways to customize UI. Everything from a multi-window app tray that shows most frequented apps used to home/lock screen customization is featured on the GS4. A feature called BlinkFeed pushes the HTC One over the top. BlinkFeed is a great way to gather news, social media, videos and pictures into one seamless location.
Both phones boast the best processors on the market. The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 both run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. Though the GS4's 1.9GHz speed beats the One (1.7GHz), the HTC phone runs faster in games and web surfing.
The camera debate is complicated. Simply looking at the specs would paint the wrong picture. Sure the HTC One only has a 4 MP camera on the back, the UltraPixel camera allows for great images, even in low light settings. However the 13 MP camera on the back of the Galaxy S4 is simply captures richer, more vibrant photos.
