Samsung Galaxy S4 Specs, Release Date May 23? Thinner, Lighter Phone Despite Bigger Screen, Battery [VIDEO]

Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, rumor update!

Samsung reinvented itself in the smartphone market when they released the Galaxy S III. Samsung fans were hoping the Galaxy S4 would blow their socks off. It's a great phone but unfortunately expectations were a bit too high. The Galaxy S4 is a great phone nonetheless.

Samsung gave the screen an upgraded the Galaxy S4 screen. The S3 had a 4.8-inch display at 1280 x 720 resolution, while the new S4 has a five inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution.

What about under the hood? Smartphone connoisseurs will be happy to know the Galaxy S4 processor is revamped as well. The new Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU runs at a smooth, yet efficient 1.9GHz. On par with new millennium PCs, the Galaxy S4 also has 2GB of RAM.

The rear facing camera is improved. The new phone comes equipped with a 13MP camera, which is a huge improvement on the S3's 8MP. The video chat camera is still pretty dismal at 2MP.

The phone won't die as much with a better battery [2600mAh].

Another feature Samsung fans have grown to love is the option to remove the battery. Instead of needing the assistance of some "genius" [insert Apple pun here], users can easily replace dead batteries on their own.

The storage options are also the same: 16GB, 32 GB, and 64B.

Though the size and look of the Galaxy S4 and S3 are marginally different, the S4 did loose a little weight and is almost a millimeter thinner.

Are you excited about the alleged May 23 release date? Are you going to pick up a Samsung Galaxy S4, or are you more of an Apple person?
