Samsung Galaxy S4 Rumors Replacing iPhone 5?

It seems like Samsung has learned a thing or two from Apple, when it comes to generating hype over a new product. Before a new piece of tech, especially smart phones, is announced us consumers go through the same "dream" stage where we speculate on all the gossip and rumors of what the device will and won't have.

So far the list of possible Galaxy S4 features include: bigger screen, adjustable display and wireless charging. Though Samsung is keeping quiet, rumors of a March release date are vamping up.

It's a game we play every year that usually leaves us a little disenchanted, but buying the phone regardless.

However, something's felt different these last couple go-a-rounds. The winds seem to be shifting, slightly, but shifting nonetheless.

In 2012's 3rd quarter of sales, the Galaxy S3 outsold the iPhone 4S. It's the first time Samsung beat out an Apple phone. Like the Apple "release party" model, people were lining up around stores the night before. That same year CNET also ranked the Galaxy S3, an Android phone, the best gadget of 2012. The iPhone 5 came in 2nd.

The hype game must be treated delicately though. While Apple keeps totally quiet at tech and electronics conventions, Samsung tends to be more of a flirt. However if swing consumers and investors get too excited about rumors that never come to fruition, it could be enough to flip their ticket and play for the other team. (S3 3-D support, anybody?)

Apple currently has a lawsuit against the Samsung S3 design, claiming patent infringement. They hope the phone will be removed from shelves altogether.
