Samsung Galaxy S4 News: Faster S4 Release Fall 2013? Samsung Cutting Into iPhone 5S Release in September?
After the breakout success of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the company may be adding a faster more efficient version of the flagship smartphone to its current list of Galaxy devices.
According to a few market insider sources, Samsung might be developing an international-friendly LTE-advanced version of the Galaxy S4. The updated S4 would still have the Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. This S4 process would be clocked at 2.3GHz, making it the best processor on the market.
Sources claim the S4 has a model number I9506. The new S4 will also allegedly run on the latest Android operating system: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The current S4 has a relatively modest 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor [depending on the region]. The current S4 also peaks at 4G LTE. The biggest difference between the current Galaxy S4 and the remodeled S4 will be the Snapdragon 800 processor [instead of 600 chip] and the addition of LTE-Advanced features.
Unfortunately we're still a ways away from any confirmation from Samsung. Still in the highly volatile rumor phase, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that some of the anticipation and hype holds up to an actual launch date.
If I had to guess when Samsung would launch the updated Galaxy S4, my money would be around holiday 2013 season at the earliest. The new iPhone 5S or 6 is expected to be released around September or October 2013. Could Samsung try and steal some thunder from Apple right in time for Christmas?
