Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, New "Ruggedized" Phone Revealed with Leaked Images

Samsung has just released the Galaxy S4 but a new variation of the phone called "Galaxy S4 Active" is reportedly in operation as new pictures have surfaced.

This one is also being referred to as the "ruggedized" S4 because of its look.

Photos of the Galaxy S4 Active, acquired by GSMArena, show Samsung has significantly altered the design of the original Galaxy S4, adding three front screen hardware buttons and a reinforced rear shell with four screws on the back, though they might just be for looks.

The Galaxy S4 Active will feature a quad-core 1.9GHz processor with Adreno 320 GPU, and incorporates the same 4.99-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display as Samsung's new flagship.

Peel, the Samsung partner, which makes the company's WatchON TV control application, also confirmed the existence of the waterproof and dust-proof handset, including support for "upcoming S4 Mega, S4 mini, and S4 Active" smartphones in a new version of its app.

So even with the S4 out and the S4 Active releasing, it appears that there will be a lower spec S4 mini releasing as well as a S4 Mega.

So Samsung is clearly trying to push varients of their devices to help saturate the market and pick up new customers.

Would the new S4 Active, Mega or Mini make you want to switch away from your iPhone, HTC or other smartphone to pick one of these new Samsung phones?
