Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Upcoming Phablet May Include UV Sensor, Retina Scanner
A latest report in SamMobile claimed that in addition to incorporating a heart rate and fingerprint sensor, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will also feature a UV sensor and retina scanner. In other words, the Galaxy Note 4 will be the first smartphone to pack such a feature.
It is rumored that the UV sensor will be incorporated in the S Health application that is sure to feature in the upcoming phablet. It is also anticipated that the Galaxy Note 4 will come with a retina scanner for security. Initially, Samsung smartphones were packed a fingerprint sensor with a view to address a number of the security problems faced by people using the company's smartphones.
According to the SamMobile report, the latest UV sensor will measure the sun's UV radiation when the sensor's rear is tilted at a 60 degree angle of elevation in the direction of the sun. Determing the UV will help the users to protect their skin from damage due to the sun and also guide them with the current UV index level.
In addition to the features mentioned above, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is also rumored to include a quadHD screen display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution, Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system, 64-bit processor, 3GB RAM, and 3-megapixel front-facing camera.
The phablet will come in two variants packing different processors. Similar to the earlier variants of the Galaxy Note phablets, the international version will include the Exynos chipset, while the unit that will be released in the U.S. will have the Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor.
It is speculated that the handset will be unveiled at this year's IFA event in Berlin this September. It is also reported that mass production of the Galaxy Note 4 will commence this month to meet the deadline for release.
Some other reports have suggested that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be released together with other Samsung devices like Gear Live, Samsung Galaxy F (dubbed as Galaxy S5 Prime) and Gear Glass.
