Samsung Galaxy Alpha Specs Rumors: Optimized Exynos Chipset and Metallic Frame to be Expected

For Samsung avid users, another day means another set of rumors to read about for the upcoming Galaxy Alpha.

Earlier this week, news spread about an executive of Samsung who mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy Alpha would be manufactured "with new materials." If this is accurate than this Android smartphone would be the first of its kind to mix a metallic base with a faux-leather cover.

Apparently, this widely-rumored device is worthy of attention due to the specs it's set to have. Initial predictions pointed out that it will sport a Samsung-made Exynos chipset, particularly the Exynos 5433. This octa-core processor is expected to outperform older versions of the series as its capacity was already proven during last month's benchmark test.

Further details of the specs include the 12 MP camera for the rear and 2 MP in front. Screen resolution is rather confirmed to be 720 x 1280 pixels. It has 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of non-expandable internal memory and will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The Alpha will also have a heart rate sensor placed next to the rear camera.

Unlike the recent Galaxy flagship, this upcoming handset will have a thinner and smaller body made with an aluminum frame. With this in mind, we have to say that Samsung will probably position the new Galaxy in its premium smartphone line-up.
